Rejoicing

I don’t want to stomp on Dave’s post, but it’s two weeks until my next scheduled post, and I. Can’t. Wait.

On Saturday I wrote the last scene of the last chapter of Book of Secrets. I’d estimated it would run to 100,000 words and the first-draft word count was 100,646 words. Am I brilliant or what?

I’m taking two days to wallow in the joy of finishing a book, and then I’ll get to work on revisions and proofreading. I write pretty clean first draft, though, so this part shouldn’t take long. Beta readers be warned: barring unforeseen complications like nuclear war, there should be a hefty manuscript heading your way in about ten days.

So just about Thanksgiving, a never-before seen Margaret Ball manuscript is going to hit my inbox! That truly is something to be thankful for. Alleluia, dear Lord, what have I done to deserve such fortune!
