Assumptions Were Made

We retrieved Mrs. Dave from the place with the huge silver birds, yesterday. And while I’d like to claim I haven’t had an opportunity to sit down and write (and I haven’t. Not really. And only half a cup of coffee, which is the real tragedy) that’s mostly due to communication, or rather, the lack of it. Assumptions were made, is what I’m saying, and the part I’m not saying is going to remain unsaid.

Wee Dave and Wee-er Dave are more or less over the moon to have Mommy home. They’re so thrilled, they’re almost behaving like civilized(ish) human creatures, instead of the semi-barbaric little savages they are. Which is nice.

All of this is to say, I haven’t had an opportunity to write an actual post. I hoped to get some fiction finished to put up, and may still have an opportunity for that *rocks hand back and forth* but I’m not holding out a ton of hope.

Allow me to ask all of you a question: what subject would you like to see covered here at the MGC?

  1. Marketing for rank beginners. As in, you have a book, but literally no one knows your name, so it’s useless to say, “Talk about it on social media, put a notification on your website, and be sure to mention it in your next email newsletter,” because your sets of Twitter followers, visitors to your website, and newsletter subscribers are all empty. How do you get the momentum started so you might eventually be able to use the standard strategies?

  2. Have we had a good series on the costs, scheduling, and logistics of mass murders?

The mechanics of police states? How a secret police operates?

Seven habits of highly effective mass killers of communists?

Wouldn’t that all fall under Mother Nature? Famine, freezing to death, lack of sanitary sewer/potable water, etc.

    1. If it’s a very spicy taco pizza, a crisp white goes well with spicy food. But if it’s a heavy tomato base with only mild taco flavouring, then you want a red to complement the tomato base – a good table red, or a chianti, would both work well.

  3. Glad to hear Mrs. Dave is home in one piece. And Chianti with ANY pizza… The cheaper the better… It’s pizza, not gourmet food… 😉

  4. I’d love to see anything on the following: Unexpected pitfalls of writing, what you do with writing and research that you haven’t used yet/edit out, and/or when you stop researching and move to writing.

  5. Tactics. As, for instance, what would be the wisest course of action for a traveling party being harassed by skirmishers and other such action scenes.
