We are now in the wind-down phase of Operation Wedding. The cake has been distributed, the honeymoon is done and the photos are coming in. I therefore thought I would put some of them up as I am too emotion exhausted to think clearly.
>Dear PamI remember well being 26 and marrying. The future was a great adventure in which only wonderful things would happen. It's funny how age and experience breeds uncertainty.John
>Dear RowenaIt is winter but southern England has warm wet winters. I suppose the air temperature was about 8degC. Thirty years ago it used to be colder in south-east England. The other factor is that we North Europeans are hardy stock. Our ancestors rowed around the North Sea in open boats. I recall attending an American football match in Tallahassee in Nov where I was in a T-Shirt and the locals were in coats. :)John
>Dear OriI looked up that phrase as we don't have it in England, although I believe it is canon in American English. "A good event has happened."We don't have an equivalent expression for Mazal Tov. It is a nice thought and I thank you for the sentiment.John
