I was poking around a few writers’ blogs that I know of, and found this really useful article about making the best use of categories on Amazon. You can now go up to ten categories, not just multiple key-words.

This is genius. I’m going to get right on this.

  2. I just went to look at mine, and it still tells me I can only select two categories. Any idea why that would be?

    1. Well, reading is fun-duh-mental!

“This is probably the easiest aspect. All you have to do is log in to your Amazon Author Central page and click on “help.” Then email them with the ten categories you’ve chosen.”

  3. You don’t want to use too many categories, or else you’ll look dis-shelv-eled.

  4. Contemplate the competitor. The Times approximately today has an op-ed “Save Barnes & Noble”. Apparently there is concern about this.

The notion that the quality or political leanings of the books on sale might be part of the problem was not identified as an issue.

I think its more the fear in official circles that they are about to lose a very large outlet for their propaganda, a well respected and not replaceable one. Big Pub and Big Media have both been battered by #MeToo and Trumpitis, now their largest and only remaining Big Box distributor is about to go under.

I’m sure a bunch of them just woke up and flipped out over it.
